If you are a newly hired nurse, congratulations on completing yourtraining!  Trends in employment show the nursing industry is poised togrow for at least the next decade, so you have chosen a smart profession. Not only will you get job satisfaction from comforting and helping patients,but you can also make a great living as a nurse. 

The best place to work as a nurse is up for debate, but there have been somestudies done that indicate some states in the U.S. are more lucrative andeasier to secure a position in your field.  According to studies done byNursingLink, it appears the best state to be a nurse in is California. Not only do California nurses get paid, on average, the highest wages(approximately $25.75 per hour!) but there are tons of job openings, aswell—studies show that there are almost eleven thousand annual job openings inCalifornia!  Sunshine and surf aside, California has truly got nursescovered.  However, if you want to find the best place to be a nurse, butyour family and friends are on the East Coast, states such as New Jersey andMassachusetts are great choices, too.  They both offer salaries within thetop five highest in the United States and have well over three-thousand nursingpositions open yearly.        Now that youhave secured a great paying job, it is time to shop the new styles inscrubs.  Match how you feel inside with how you look on the outside, evenat work.  It may seem like a myth, but it’s true; you can look hot inscrubs!  One way to find scrubs that look great on you is to firstconsider your body type.  Do you have an athletic build, being slimthroughout your entire body?  If so, you should consider wearing printedscrubs, and make use of layering.  If you have a bigger bust andshoulders, try some v-neck and not too snug—look for tops in flattering darkhues, with lighter colors for pants.  People with less weight on top andmore on the bottom should go for printed tops with dark, neutral bottoms. The goal is to highlight your assets with prints and bright colors, whileplaying down the less-perfect areas with dark and neutral colors that fitwell.  No matter what your body type, don’t be afraid to add cuteaccessories like earrings, a nice necklace or an awesome haircut and color!
